It's Not You, It's Me

It would appear my life really isn't as interesting as I lead on... So instead, I am going to tell you a story about my brother. I was downstairs on my computer and I was "babysitting" because my parents left. My kind of babysitting is letting the 2 boys play upstairs while I do my own thing. I knew they were on the Xbox so I figured that was good enough on my part of watching them. I suddenly hear a loud noise like the piano had fallen over or an elephant had found its way into our living room so I run upstairs to see what that was about. My brother was playing the Kinect in his socks, and he was so into the game that he had slipped and fallen and he hit his head on the floor. Probably hit isn't even the word I would use. It was more like slam. He was very sad about this and was letting me know- very vocally. So I took him downstairs with me where he immediately fell asleep. I poked him a few times just to make sure he was still with me. I sure do like this kid.

As for the title of this post, I was watching a movie thing where the girl actually said this to her boyfriend as she broke up with him. If anyone ever said this to me, I think I would either laugh at them or slap them. Whichever came to me first. That is a horrible line.

Brother

This kid is going places. I take him with me when I need to run errands and he sits quietly with me when I need to go to the car parts store. He's a great brother. Sometimes he likes to dress up in girl clothes, and we encourage him to strike poses that make him look good.

All You Ever Need Is Love

I walked in the door from work today and I was accosted by my brothers and sister. One brother pulled me into a huge hug which he didn't let go of, the other brother started talking to me a mile a minute, and my sister put this in my hand and told me excitedly that they had been working on this little baby for awhile. How tender are my siblings?

Next on the agenda is the cats that have infested our yard. We don't feed them or rarely ever touch them but they sit under our trees like they have been living here all their lives. I got this one to come to me and it was the cutest little thing I have ever held. Hopefully he wasn't accompanied by rabies or fleas or anything like that because we had a tender moment and I would not love that. I'm not sure what my face is saying. Probably something like "give me a home, love me".

Ouch.

I spend a significant amount of time at rest stops it would appear. Yesterday my mom and I drove to Provo and back so we could pick up my car that was there. We didn't leave Burley till 4:30 so it was looking to be a late night. We crossed the Idaho border around 1 am and since neither of us could see straight, we pulled into the rest stop to sleep for awhile. We locked ourselves in the van and settled in for the longest night of my life... My 5'10 body did not want to sleep in the 5' foot back seat.  Besides, there was the occasional creeper that would walk by and the trees we parked next to were full of scary sounds.

When we got home, we found out my little brother had gotten in a bike accident and he was all scraped up and sad looking.

poor little guy. He just laid in my moms bed and was a sad and pathetic looking little thing.

Unrelated to yesterday's adventure is this story: as we drive to work every day, there is a cow that has been let out of the fence with the rest of his family. We think he was sick or something, so it's just been wandering around outside the fence. Its legs were chained together so it wouldn't run away, it was just allowed to shuffle around. I guess this is probably a normal thing for farming families or people who own animals, but to me it was the saddest thing. That poor guy had to wander around outside alone for probably 3 weeks. We drove past it on Saturday and it was out back, sprawled across the ground and had finally died (or been shot). That was nice to see that it didn't have to be sick anymore and it was finally taken care of.

My wandering thoughts and lack of a great post today is due to that fact that I'm running on probably 4 hours of sleep. Lets try again tomorrow.

Laughter IS the Best Medicine

I won't name names, but the funniest conversation happened today. We'll call her Jane for simplicity's sake.

Me: Man, where is that rest stop! I am dying I have to go so bad!!
Jane: Yeah, I gotta go bad! My pee-dometer is full! I am super full of pee-ness. Uh...

An awkward silence, and then we both burst out laughing. It didn't help that we had been working since 7 that morning and we were both exhausted from work and sleep deprived. I haven't laughed that hard in a good while.

Monotony

Let's try not to remember that I didn't post yesterday... Work is the same everyday. We mow the same churches, we take the same roads to get to said churches, we do the same things, and I get the same amount of sore and tired every single day. I mean, this week is spiced up by the fact that our main in charge mower man is off doing like a photo shoot all week so we're a man down, but besides that, its all the same. Yesterday or the day before or something- its hard to remember what day or place things happen- we were mowing along this church out in the absolute middle of nowhere and there was a very odd shaped flat thing against the fence. My friend came and got me so we could investigate further because it really was strange looking. After further investigation, we came to the conclusion that it was a skinned cat that someone and or something had put there. It was hands down the grossest thing I have ever seen in my whole entire life. I still shudder a little bit when I think about it.

Moving on from that gross situation, on a happier or at least less monotonous note, I have started re-reading the Harry Potter series. Actually you could consider it re-listening to them. I checked out all the books on cd from the Library with the main problem being that they don't have number 7 there. That is going to be a damper on my mood when I get to that book.

Cool fact from the day: 75mph- 1 mile=48 seconds.
